About Me

“I feel like I have one heck of a rave in my head with squatters of all ages and quirks. I welcome you to life with ADHD and CPTSD in the mosh pit.”

Hello there, my name is Dawn Tomlin and I am studying on the OCA’s BA(Hons) Photography course.

I am a mother of two amazing young women and also six cats, one cockapoo, two goldfish and a cabbit. A cabbit? I hear you ask. A spelling mistake? A new species of ‘something’? Nope, he is actually an indoor rabbit who thinks he is a cat, I mean literally.

I have been living in Lowestoft for nearly nine years. I grew up in Welling, Kent, which was all but a twenty minute train ride to London. The two environments couldn’t be so different. On the upside, I feel less pressured than I did living in the hectic, fast lifestyle of a city. However, I really miss the more exciting photography outings, Centrepieces Mental Health Project and the exhibitions and museums of London.

My life has always been very complicated, incomplete and quite lonely. This year (2024) I finally got to know why my life was quite a cycle of one failure after another. The counselors, mental health practitioners, psychologists and psychiatrists have all said that with every failure come many successes. The lists that I began to write were long. They helped me see the positives of what I have achieved. They also showed what I can achieve in the future.

I hope you enjoy looking through my blog as much as I have creating the content.
